Burning: Selected Work

Burning

Photos from Artist's private iCloud storage, being printed out as a poster, being burned and exhibited in public space.

Real cameras have been gradually replaced by phone cameras recently, many of us are used to taking pictures of landscapes, important files, selfies as well as screen-captures by phone. Even when iphones were lost, we can get our storage back from iCloud as long as the storage is back-uped. New technology makes life convenient in many ways, we take pictures much more than before, even same picture for many times. On the other hand, it is untouchable and can be illusory sometimes. Will someone else see the pictures? Does it really store all my pictures, or miss some? Do I have my privacy well protected?

Once in the history, film cameras is the only type of camera, much more time and effort were needed for taking pictures. Once the film were burned, nothing left. Now, pictures can be burned and reprint as long as the untouchable data are stored on cloud.
